Despicable Me Minion Birthday Cake

When we get a call saying can we order a custom cake that looks just like a Minion we get a bit giddy here in Flavourtown. Gru and his little yellow assistants are pretty much one of the best things to happen in the world of cartoons for years so creating an edible Minion had to be a piece of cake.

When we decided how to make a minion cake delicious but also look epic we got to work. We went with Four layers of our epic vanilla funfetti sponge generously covered and frosted with Minion yellow Swiss meringue buttercream which really hit the sweet spot. We finished it all off with our chocolate ganache drip and a sprinkle of glitter. We've been told the cake was 'utterly amazing and delicious' but it was difficult cutting into with that big Minion eye watching!!
