- What ingredients do you use?

We only use the best ingredients we can get our hands on. Our eggs are organic, free range and sourced directly from the farm - which is accredited by the Organic Growers Association, The Soil Association, RSPCA Freedom Foods and British Red Lion Quality, to ensure the hens receive the highest potential standards of animal welfare. We use the finest flour, which is also from a Soil Association-accredited miller. We use Lescure butter, churned by hand in the Charentes region in France, and our chocolate-based products use Valrhona cocoa powder and the finest chocolates from France and Belgium. Our fruit is all fresh, and we hand-make all our sauces, compotes, fillings, and caramels.

  • Can I customise my cake?

We offer personalisation options to add your own message to our range of cakes or cupcakes as well as our edible image options however, if you require anything more than this, your order will fall under our bespoke orders section.

- Can I have bespoke cakes and cupcakes?

Our bespoke service is priced on an order-by-order basis and is subject to availability; please email info@flavourtownbakery.co.uk for help with your order.

DIETARY INFORMATION

- Are your products suitable for vegetarians?

Almost all our products are suitable for vegetarians, apart from any that contain marshmallows.

- Do you sell any vegan products?

We absolutely do! Check out our cupcakes page, for which flavours are currently available.

- Do you sell any gluten-free products?

Our Free From cupcakes and brownies are baked without gluten however they are made in an environment that uses gluten-based products on a daily basis. We have robust cross-contamination prevention procedures in place, but all Flavourtown products may contain traces of gluten.

*Are your products nut-safe?

We bake with all kinds of nuts, including peanuts and tree nuts, in our bakery and whilst we have robust cross-contamination prevention procedures in place, we cannot guarantee that our products don't contain traces of nuts. Although a product may not contain nuts, all products are made in a kitchen that handles nuts.

  • Are your products Halal?

While we are not a Halal Monitoring Committee-approved supplier we do adhere to their guidelines, and as such, all of the sweets we use are vegetarian. Some of the marshmallows we use are vegan, but some aren’t so please do check with us if you are not sure. We also use gold spray as part of the decorations on some of our products. This uses ethanol as a carrier for the gold lustre dust however it evaporates, and the HMC have advised that it is safe for those who follow a Halal diet.

We bake with care and attention to detail but sometimes a piece of eggshell, fruit seeds or stones can make its way into our cakes.

SIZE OF PRODUCT

- How big are your cupcakes?

Our cupcakes are full standard size and are very generous.

- How many portions do your layer cakes serve?

We recommend giving your guests generous slices (as we do in our stores – American-sized potions if you will), so we approximate that you will get the following portions for our cakes: 6" = six – ten portions / 8" = twelve – eighteen portions / 10" = twenty-eight – thirty-four portions / 12" = forty - four portions.

Please refer to the cakes page for our downloadable PDF portion guide.

- How much do your cakes weigh?

Please be aware when collecting large cakes, these can be extremely heavy and the boxes they come in can be very large. We strongly recommend arranging suitable transport to collect large cakes or cupcakes. WE DO NOT PROVIDE BAGS AS OUR CAKES NEED TO BE CARRIED BY HAND
