How to Choose the Perfect Wedding Cake in London (Without the Stress)

How to Choose the Perfect Wedding Cake in London (Without the Stress)

The London Couple’s Guide to Choosing and Ordering a Wedding Cake - with tips.

Choosing your wedding cake should be one of the most exciting parts of planning your big day. At Flavourtown Bakery, we help couples across London (and now further afield inside the M25), keep it simple, stylish, and seriously delicious, with a curated collection of wedding cakes designed to impress.

We've put together this practical guide to finding the perfect wedding cake — AND we've added few expert wedding planning tips to make the process even easier.

Start with Flavour

It’s easy to get caught up in how a wedding cake looks, but the flavour is just as important. After all, you want your guests to remember how good it tasted, not just how pretty it looked.

Our signature wedding cake flavours are: Click the flavours to find out what makes them special.

  • Red Velvet – A rich cocoa sponge paired with silky cream cheese frosting.

  • Vanilla – Pillowy, fluffy, and made with Madagascan vanilla.

  • Chocolate – Deeply indulgent and dangerously good. Made with proper luxurious italian chocolate.

Top Tip:
Always taste before you commit. Our Wedding Cake Taster Box lets you sample all three flavours from the comfort of your home. We deliver across London and the M25.

Pick a Design That Works With Your Wedding Style

Your cake should complement your overall wedding style.
At Flavourtown, we offer a curated range of wedding cake designs that suit all kinds of celebrations — from minimalist modern weddings to colourful, creative parties.

The Flavourtown Wedding Cake Collection is ready-to-order : this means you just choose your design, flavour, size and date and place your order. We don't offer bespoke fully custom wedding cakes, BUT we can tailor our range to your colour scheme, just drop us an email to discuss

Top Tip:
When choosing a cake design, consider:

  • Your venue style (grand ballroom vs modern rooftop)

  • Your floral colours (match or contrast the cake)

  • The number of guests (larger guest lists may need a bigger cake!)

Plan Ahead

We can accomodate wedding cakes with 48 hours notice! BUT we recommend booking your cake as early as possibl, especially if you’re getting married during peak wedding season (May–September).

Top Tip:
Have your wedding venue confirmed before ordering your cake — we’ll need to know the location for smooth delivery and setup!

Size Matters: Don’t Over- or Under-Order

It's tempting to go huge with your cake, but it’s important to match the size to your guest list.

All of our wedding cakes have a rough portion guide on their individual product pages - we give you full-sized dessert portions and smaller party-portions.

Top Tip:

Order Cupcakes or Mini Cupcakes to sit alongside your cake! After you get that perfect 'cutting shot', the top table have a slice and the rest of your guests enjoy a cupcake.

Delivery You Can Rely On

Our amazing drivers are trained on EXACTLY how to handle and safely deliver your cake. You book your wedding cake delivery when you place your order
